Got an MH today but have no idea what it is other then MH. Looks sort of like the 101 SR. that I have but it has a 4 cylinder flat head engine. Same size tires and most every thing looks the same. What might it be?? I'm thinking maybe a JR. but since I don't know much about MH I have to ask you guys. Thanks for your help

Sounds like a 101 or 102 Junior to me .... that's a little Continental flathead engine, maybe a 124 or 140 cubic inches, maybe even a 162. Serial number for the tractor is on a tin plate on the left side of the chassis casting but it's obviously gone. It is also hand stamped into the upper machined surface of the transmission/differential housing between the cast shift lever platform and the steel plate that covers the rear end area. It is near the location of where the clutch pedal sits when at rest. You'll have to do some scraping to find it. Early models had a single side panel per side while later ones had two panels per side and with a fancier curve pattern profile. Early ones had the air cleaner behind the wire mesh grille while later ones had the air cleaner near the back of the engine. The later ones had a tin louvered grille.
