I am located at quite a high location and that puts my silo as an excellent location for a cell tower. I can not seem to find anyone willing to disclose what they are paid in rent by the cell phone companies. If anyone out there has any idea let me know. Thanks

The rates listed seem to be what I've heard and read on auction listings. I wish I had one on my place it would sure make a nice retirement income. I would retire while I could enjoy it. Just be carefull on the contract and make SURE that you get extra money for each extra company they add in the future. A neighbor lady thought her contract allowed for this until they added more and she couldn't get paid extra because it really wasn't in the contract.Plus they ruined a culvert with the big truck pulling in the tower and she couldn't get them to fix that.

Here in Northern Va. Now this is a pretty populated area, the local body shop has a tower off one corner that pays $1000/mo for the first cell company plus more ofr each additional coompany using the tower. There are four on it now and he is getting more then 2000/mo.
Went right out and bought a Viper--said it was found money and he wanted to play a little LOL.

Hi Farmall 340,

Yes, the deal seems good, but I remember reading on how living next to one of those towers wasn't so good for your health, I think they mentioned increased cancer or something, but don't quote me on it, I'm not a doctor! :D

If you do an internet serch you should be able to pull something up in that kind of a light.

Just my $.02

God bless, and take care,

Pawel

Well I am a doctor and Although my medical degrees are completly fraudulant I say it causes cancer too.Any fields of electricity throw off the bodys own electricity and cause problems.Studies in other countries have proven this. Studies in the US are funded by the electrical and telecommunications industry.Who do you beleive.Dont eat lunch sitting on the nice warm transformer or high voltage cables either.

i do know this to be true. in dekalb county illinois, a guy i know peronally very very well and know it to be true he gets 1,000 a month a free cell for him and his wife and it is a 50 year lease. after the 50 years if the lease isnt renewed, they will take the tower down the cemnt out etc. he convienently go the tower placed ideally for him as they put it farther back in the field and he got a driveway put in for their access and maintained by them but he uses it and can uase it. i dont see why in 50 years the lease wouldnt be renewed but wholknows if we will even have or need towers in 50 years. the only downside i can see is it could pose a problem if the land were later in say 10 years developed into a subdivision. i dont know if possible or anyone that would want to live next to that. other then that hard to make 1000 an acre let alone guarenteed every month w/another 2 phones for free thats oh pry a 100 dollar kicker there too. i think they paid a premium for his land as well because they desperatly wanted a tower in that area and he owned most of the land around.

I saw an auction for a piece of land with a tower on it. It stated the rate was $800.00 a month(Southern Ohio).

Here in Mid-Michigan the going rate seems to be about $500.00 per month. I don"t know how long the lease is, but I would imagine that it is 20 years plus for communication towers. They also require unlimited access to the land on which the tower is situated. From what I see, Mr. Joe Average is fighting an uphill battle with the nabobs, who have the inside track because of political and economic pull.

They put a tower up on a neighbors pasture, he doesn't even have to look at it. I see this eyesore coming and going every day, and can see it from my porch, he gets paid, and my view is hurting. progress, gotta love it.

Thank goodness the closest one to me is about three miles away so I don't have to look at it. In your case just be glad it actually looks like a cell tower, there isn't much to them and they aren't all that hard to overlook once you get used to them. I've seen a few that they tried to make look like trees so they would "blend in".....needless to say being way higher than the surrounding trees already it stands out and whatever they put on it to "flesh it out" into a tree is more hidious than a plain old tower could ever be.

I know in this area of Michigan, (Livingston Co.) most cell towers are on public property. I am not sure why. Easy.
