Heyy. I was wondering how good are the 16HP Kohler K341's. Do they usually have problems? Do they always leak oil? How long has anyone had theres? Lata! FrAnKiE2FrAnKiE.

you won't find a better engine. I have one in an old Jacobsen mower from the early 70's that I just overhauled for the first time. Mows 2 1/2 acres of lawn.

They're a very good engine. They don't leak oil unless there's a bad gasket or seal, or they are in need of piston ring replacemt or a rebore job, and have a lot of blow-by.

We have an older model, not a great starter in cold weather but if we keep the ignition points in good shape it will usually start. Not sure what model ours is but it has good power and has run a grain auger for over 20 years. Parts are very expensive but I'm sure that applies to all small engines. Ours has a habit of the starter bolts coming loose so that may be something to watch.

Just finished augering over 10,000 bushels with ours. Checked out the model and it is a K341S. See my previous comments.
