Hate to, but gotta go with the flow. After the session I had with the equal hitch connecting JD tractors to their implements (see implements section), I am a converted blue lover. Blue is still my favorite utility, but my lot now has more green than blue and John just impressed the heck outta me with this hitch thing and how tight a turn you can make with no PTO noise.

So be lookin for txgrn as txblu is hereby history.

Gotta do what you gotta do.

Mark

I always figured that if you ever dismounted the "blu" that you"d take the natural course and hitch a ride on something "red". While "grn" is most certainly tolerable, "red" would be embraced. Hope you know I"m joshing ya.

Started with red. 1st tractor (ever) was a B. 2nd was a 464. Don't remember after that. Anyhew I went green then had to sell out then back in with blue and now blue and mostly green.

One thing that happened was that I couldn't find the right size red; then I worked on some red for friends (when I had the first green) and noticed that red seems to add a lot of stuff that was something else to fix; then the red dealership dissolved leaving only blue and green in the area.

I liked the simplicity of both blue and green. Just bought what came along that seemed like a good deal. My first green on the second time around was just an accident. Was going to the grocery store one day and was rubbernecking as usual. Spotted it and asked. Guy was desperate to get IRS off his back. Went immediately to the bank and covered that deal. Still have it (4010D).

Thanks,

Mark

Yes, there's no question about it, Deeres are nice tractors... good steering, power, and looks, but.. I still don't think you can beat an Oliver 1955 though... :D

God bless, Pawel

Pawel,

Did you see my recent comments on the Oliver board on the Super 55? Ollie definitely did things different. So why isn't dark green the color of choice, if you will?

Welcome to the Holy Land, txgrn. You have made a wise choice to join the club of the few, the proud, the Johns. It takes a big wallet and bigger ego to ride the MIGHTY JOHN. Ride with pride.

Vaya Con Dios,

Dug, Proud and poor owner of a 2510 and F935

After what I've experienced the last 4 months, she deserves her price; she earned it. And as far as pride, I can take pride in things working together to get the job finished properly; course that new green paint does kinda shine. Grin.

Well Ford is a great tractor. But after getting all my hayin equip all green for this year and seeing how mother Deere put it all together for your and my comfort and well being while farming, I was not overwhelmed, but very very impressed. No wonder the Green tag has survived without mergers like all the other domestically sold (till Kabota) have had to do.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark, had I had any clue, I'd have contacted Kim and reserved "txgrn" and then sold it to you. LOL. Remember when the .com's started taking off? Folks were reserving things like GM.com, Ford.com, ATT.com, etc, then selling them to the companies for big $$$. I missed my chance. I'm sitting on a lot of them that I know will pay off one day, like edsel.com, spongetractortire.com, solarpoweredtractor.com, algore.com. Somehow missed "txgrn" though. Hmm? Better contact Kim and snatch up "txred", txorange", and a few others just in case.

Green can be good huh? Yesterday ran across a post here about a scam 4020 on Ebay, so for the heck of it went over and took a look, it was gone. No biggie, was just curious. But while I was there, did a search for a 4520, not expecting anything, never is. Holy toledo. Just for the heck of it, take a look out of Iowa over there. Bet is gonna run away for $$$ by the time it ends. Was interesting though.

It don't change nothin though. Blue, green, red, orange, you'll still be Mark. It don't change nothing, in a good way.

Mark

You're welcome Mark. Truth be told, I was just being honest about you being good folk.

And that '70 4520 on Ebay that I figured would fetch $$$? I forgot the other alternative - didn't meet the reserve. Probably not even close. Bidding never got above $13.2K. I only ever bid on a tractor on Ebay once, on a big Massey where the owner couldn't seperate the rears. When I found myself $4K over what I'd intended, reeled myself in after realizing that I'd almost p...ed away the what it was gonna take to fix the reason for the bald fronts. Never played at Ebay again, only look sometimes.
