a thousand pardons for the off topic. Yesterday was replacing the return hose on the power steering unit-hooks into the reservior and has no pressure on it. Well the cows was hollering and the kids were crying-so I stripped out the metal coupling threads-Question can I couple the old pipe threads(still good)with the new hose and make it work. I plan to cut the metal pipe with a hacksaw and then get some form of coupler-since it is not under pressure it seems as though the only problem would be the corrosive action of the power steering fluid-Advice?????

Just about any kind of return line should work for a PS unit so long as it is not restricted. Unless I am missing something power steering fluid is not corrosive, at least I've never seen corrosion around ps fluid or pumps.
