I've got a line on a used Bush Hog brand loader for my 2440 Deere. It's on a simular tractor now, so fit-wise, I should be OK... Question is, does Bush Hog make a fair loader? I've never given them a look. (The seller THINKS it's a model 2400????) He's got what sounds like a fair price, but I haven't seen it yet. Anyone with prior experience around ush Hog loaders????

bush hog bought out great bend moved it to kentucky from kansas - we ordered a new gb 760 then a week later our dealer called bush hog to have it painted blue to match new 165hp ford -bush hog said it was to far down assembly line- it came dealer got ready to mount it-notices on loader arms where the bush hog stickers had been peeled off and great bend stickers put on-had a tag on it from a lot in texas where it had been -then they got ready to mount bucket it was warped 1.5 inches high in center- we had bought 4 loaders from great bend in kansas but after the service from bush hog -no more- here in south dakota - the dealers i have talked to have had problems also and have started to carry other brands like koyker -quickie- miller-westendorf- best of luck

I've had one on my Farmall SM tractor since about 1976. The label on the side says "Bush Hog Freeman 2000." It is extremely rugged. I have absolutely abused it, and it doesn't complain.

IF this would be of any help I have used Buhler loader, model 595 the current unit i have is 4 0r 5 years old and is now for sale as I have went to a larger unit for a front wheel asssit tractor. This is same as new loader the bucket has never dug dirt as I used it with hay grapple 90% of the time. It is coming off a 1650 Oliver tractor. I can see if it would work on yours with different brackets.

Rick, I know that this is about a year since you posted about the loader but is it still available? I'm buying a 1650 from a friend and could use a loader for snow removal and general use.

Bush Hog makes good quality solidly built equipment. I wouldn't be afraid of anything in the Bush Hog brand.

My dad got a new one added onto a 7610 Ford he bought from a used tractor dealer (who is a BH dealer). I like the way its built and mounts, seems like well made. I can compare it to a MEMO (on my 7710) and various Case loaders.

It is heavier and stronger than the MEMO but also is more in the way (function of more metal). The BH is a much better balance than the Case loaders which always seem too heavy or too light for the tractor they are made for. Personally, I dont care for the joy stick control but thats personal bias since what I normally use (my MEMO plugs into the hydraulic outlets, and my skid steel has a control under each hand. With practice Id probably like it. Hope this helps.

Yep. I got a 2246QT for my Kubota L275 a couple of years ago. Appears to be well made. What impressed me when I mounted the sub frame was that it FIT. No reaming, jacking, stretching and pulling to speak of. The Bush Hog engineers seem to have a good handle on what size tractor a particular loader is suited for--in other words, it is not over-built for a HP class therefore there is not a bunch of dead weight being hauled around.

I DO NOT like the position of the bucket cylinder hydraulic ports. They face directly forward toward the "work" and they are vulnerable to damage especially the lower ones closer to the bucket (yep, been there!) I gave the Bush Hog wonks at the Louisville KY show an earful about their design. They seemed to have addressed that in some newer models as the lower cylinder ports are oriented to the side and are less vulnerable.

All in all, I am pleased with the loader.
