Disclamer: I read everything very carefully before doing anything to my tractor. Please do the same with your computer.

If you are having trouble in photo adds. Say you are doing a search on "Nebraska" your results of the search are displayed. You then click on one of the ads, view the ad then click the back button. the browser shows that the page can not be displayed please hit refresh. You hit refresh which starts the page over.

Fix!
This problem is caused by your temporary internet files folder being filled full.

Quick fix In the Internet explorer Menu click Tools>Internet Options in the middle of this dialog box is temporary internet files . Click delete files.

Long Fix. In the Internet explorer Menu click Tools>Internet Options in the middle of this dialog box is temporary internet files . click settings> a dialog box will show disk space used click on "view files". A list of file will be displayed by clicking on the files an selecting delete will remove file freeing up disk space.

Hope this helps

1] Don't use IE. Use Netscape or Firefox.

2] Everyone should dump cookies om a regular basis.

Good plan, but here is a twist:

I work for (and own another) software company, and 95% of the clients we build custom software for, or Internet sites, find out how much it costs to build a program or site that we "Guarantee" to work in ALL major browsesrs (Firefox, Opera, Mozilla, Netscape, & Internet Explorer) that all of a sudden they decide "OK, Internet Explorer is the main one, and if it works in the other ones that is just a bonus".

Each one has it"s good and bad points, but with the majority of computer users on Internet Explorer, most software/websites are built for it and the way it operates first, with others as afterthoughts.

Having said all that, if you are using one tpe of a browser, and get funny/weird results, by all means try another browser on the same page and it may work as intended.

Anyway, I would rather work on my tractors than the computer most days "cuz when it breaks down or needs an upgrade I can use 1" steel wrenches and a Big A*s hammer instead of a bunch of plactic keys to do the work.

Now for the OT part....we got 5" of heavy wet snow and it"s still coming down. Supposed to be in 50"s this weekend. My dilema is if I should go play on the tractors and plow it off, or get to work and make some money to buy some new summer toys for the tractors?

Everyone have a great Easter weekend!

The problem is caused by the cgi/perl script that is used to search the database. Rather than searching the database and dynamically creating a .html on the fly, it uses the perl search function to display the page.

Hitting the back button doesn't work because it was a server side function that was executed and then displayed on your screen rather than a loaded .html document. Hitting the refresh button runs the search function again and re-displays it.

A simple solution for internet explorer users is to right click on the link (your less common mouse button) and then choose "open link in new window" from the pop-up list.

This causes another browser window to open with the desired page. After you've finished reading through the post/ad you can then close that window and continue looking through the search results.

Sorry for the long post.

I have a similar problem with Explorer. When I write a post and click "submit follow up", the review post page comes up ok.

If I click the back button to get back to the original page for editing, the post there is gone.

I delete temporary internet files and cookies but it makes no different. Also do scan disc & defrag no change.

Any ideas?

Joe

I see what your saying. But, the fix has worked. I no longer get the message displayed. another thing that I have noticed when you have a jpg image and save it to your harddrive. If the folder is full the image will only save the image as a bmp.

OT Off Topic
Re Regarding

And if you're tired of messing with Internet Explorer, try Friefox in it's place. A much better browser IMHO (In My Humble Opinion)

maybe you guys can tell me what I am doing wrong when I try to upload my pics on here. After you pick the picture and you click on submit it says that the page cannot be displayed. I can upload the pics at work but not at home. I am not computer literate at all.
