I have an illinois brand tractor sold in australia december 1925 by ronaldson bros & tippet, ballarat, victoria.

There is a number of the imported illinois tractors and also a locally manufactured copy in existance.

One owner in ballarat has the r & t superdrive register and can provide technical information and manuals etc

Please email me for further information

cheers john

I have a Illinois Superdrive tractor, also, I believe, called the Moseley. Mine was exported to Southern Ireland during the first world war and spent it's working lifee near Dublin. It is in full working order and my father has ploughed in competitions with it. I would be very intersted in purchasing any documentation, or copies of it. I am also short of some spares for the engine (Climax) if anyone has any.

The Illinois tractors are located near Bloomington, IL and are both owned by the same gentleman. They make regular appearances at the I&I show in Penfield, IL and the Threshermen's reunion in Pontiac, IL.

Thank you. I have e-mailed them to try and get in touch with the tractor owner.

It was your post that gave me enough hope to continue the quest.

I've seen in mentioned in several books/repair manuals. Illinois Silo Company in Bloomington, Illinois. Made the Motor Cultivator starting ca. 1916, and the 12-30 tractor starting ca. 1917 - the latter powered by a Waukesha 4 1/2 X 5 3/4 bore and stroke, four cylinder engine.

Thanks for your reply.

I have a like new owner's instruction manual and parts list for a Model C Master Drive and the Super Drive Supplement. It still has the warranty registration card attached inside.

On 1-9-2003 John posted:
There are a lot of tractors with low production numbers that only have 1 or 2 examples known to exist. The ILLINOIS tractor built by the Bloomington Silo Co., Only 2 known to exist.

A fellow on a metalworking newsgroup knew of one in Missouri about 20 years ago. He is trying to follow up on that.

It would be great to locate one of these. Hopefully the manual would be for the model of tractor survivng.
