Not only did it screw up the print size , on netscape it got quite small , but now it takes about
ten times as long to load a page as it did two
days ago. Last night was slow ,but this is real bad.
I am on a high speed service and now it takes way longer than it did on dial up.

So? FIX IT ALREADY!!! in reply to Allan in NE, 03-23-2005 07:01:29
So? FIX IT ALREADY!!!

You have control of fonts and font sizes in your browser if you wish. Find the button at the top with "preferences" and click on that, perhaps right click, it does vary with the browser, to edit those preferences. There's a tab for appearance. You can pick the colors, you can pick the font, you can pick the font size and you can tell the browser to ignore all the styling from the web page originator, but to use your own preferences. Then when a web page genius decides to use pale yellow text on a white background or dark blue on a black background you can go click to use your own colors and easily read that obnoxious page.

Whereabouts is this "preference" button; can't find it. And another thing, sometimes I get a blue screen and a bunch of writing including, "a fatal exception has occurred etc, etc; hit 'any' key to continue"; I also can't find that 'any' key.....

It's now back to the old style. I am back to squinting and leaning forward in my chair which hurts my neck. I liked it much better the new way.

Rusty,

Hold your control key down and roll the wheel on your mouse. You can put that type right out in your lap if you like.

Yes, I know how to do that, but when I get the words up to a size that easy to see, and then go to the photo ads, it doesn't fit the page. Oh well, nothing is perfect. We just do the best we can.

Hi Mike,

Yep, I put my monitor over across the room on another desk. Sure seems to help.

Now, if I can just figure out how to get rid of every line having the old "See Dick and Jane Run" effect. :>)

Kim, x-small might work a little better in the css.

Obviously it needs tweeking. I'm very new to CSS. I'm just trying to achieve a uniform font across all pages using a style sheet. If I use "x-small" it is very tiny on Firefox and Safari. I just tried it on Explorer and it comes out bigger.

Any experts on CSS? I'll keep studying it. I didn't know the different browsers rendered it in different ways!

Hey Allan, are you still running that 12 inch green IBM monitor with the burned spot on the topline? Just joking. I am still using 800x600 but may have to go the 1280x 720 route. So many places now that count on fast internet and large pictures. Old eyes just don't like it.
Kenny....wishing we could get any kind of moisture here.

Maybe I'm just gun-shy.

They fooled around with something that wasn't broke over on the Red Power site and that thing almost came to a total halt.

Traffic slowed to a trickle and is all but non-existent anymore.

Just my 2 cents,

Allan

allen, i spend alot of time on red power and it's still moving along just fine, never noticed a slow down. as far as this site i love it also if not more because it's not just limited to one color as i like most of them. but then again everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as they don't shove it down others throat. i'm sorry you don't like this change but i know you will learn to live with it. put on a smile and have a great day!

ALLAN

I don't think this is anything we can't all overcome.... You "Yuppie, sittin' in the office with GIANT screen monitor" types can see what's on the screen better than us hard working blue collar types. We NEED this.

Now take a deep breath, and say "It'll all be OK"

John

Its more than obvious that you have been breathin' those green and yellow paint fumes far too long and are in need of some kindhearted therapy to straighten out your tilted way of thinking. You're just not trackin' on the level anymore.

Here, let me help. :>)

It looks like somebody put a new dress on the old wh0re, but they forgot to give her a new pair of shoes! That's almost as nice as Indy's 2440 except that he started with a classy lady and just dressed up a little.
