I bought one over a year ago, but havn't had time to get it running. Needs some engine work. I don't know much about them. I just thought it was different.

That crank is a hateful thing. Yours is likely from the late 60s, and just a guess, but by the color I would say that its a Gambles. Still a ride king, but sold by Gambles under their name. Yours is also a single speed.

Thanks, I wondered about the color. It seems to have red under the green though, maybe it is just a primer. The crank never looking fun to me. I like the 110 starter on the side.

The original color on the later models is IH red. Earlier ones was more of an orange/red. Call swisher directly for stickers (800-222-8183). Also on their website, there are manuals that will general cover most of those mowers. Look for either the AZ Model, A-32 or R-32. Those mowers were either powered by a v60 (tvm140) Tecumseh (up to about 1985ish?) and then afterwards an 8hp Briggs.

Is yours like the one in the picture? I think the last year they made those was in 1973. If it has a single speed it is probably earlier than 1970.

Eric, I unlocked my email. I can answer any questions you have on this mower. The serial number is on the left side (as you are sitting on it) on the vertical surface that is directly under the belt covers. Also, there is a number (or letter) on the flat part (not the side brackets) of the gearbox that will indicate year **IF** the gearbox has not been replaced.

I may also have the decals you need, depending on which specific mower you have and also ANY parts you would need. If we can narrow down the year of your mower, I can also send you a manual (for the engine as well should you need one).

Just click on the blue [send email] to email me.

We've been dealers for these since 1966. They no longer make the 3 wheelers due to engine availability. I've been working on these since I've been in diapers. I remember once during a spring order we were assembling the mowers. I was a little tike and wasnt strong enough to lift the back end to put on the tires, so I had a jack under the rear.

As long as your lawn is relatively level, you will love this thing. On a small lawn it will out-mow just about anything out there.

BTW - it's a zero turn. To go in reverse you simply turn the steering wheel. Just like the bumper cars

I got a 3 wheel ride king friday at a garage sale. I tried it out yesterday. It is the greatest. It has more power than it needs. It has a two speed and what looks and runs like a new 8hp briggs with elec start. It mows up a grade at fast speed and handles tall grass leaving the yard looking great. I stole it for $125 and it came with a new battery. It did not come with a manual and I am wondering now to adjust the mowing height???
