NO!...This has nothing to do about tractors, other than it occurred at a CaseIH / Ford dealership. After 40 years of being a loyal GM customer, today the Wife and I ended up with a FoMoCo product. Needed an older everyday vehicle, and came home with a 1998 Lincoln Continental with 32,000 miles. The drive home seemed different, not being behind the wheel of my 8.1L Chevy that I've been using daily. Maybe I can learn to live with something that isn't costing $10.00 a day in gas.

this kind of put's me in a bad position because i work for a ford/dodge dealer but yet i own and drive mostly GM's! i don't want to put down your new ride rauville but rather mean to warn you of possible complications. does this lincoln have the 4.6L or the 3.8L? the 4.6's seem to last longer but we still have replaced our fair share( i mean the 32 valve motors, not the standard ones like in the trucks or crown vics). the 3.8's are notorious for cracking heads. also the air suspension is known for major problems too. the air shocks go upwards of $700 a piece when they pop! anyways i hope you the best and pray the car serves you better than the majority that i know of.

Casey;
I'm sure glad I waited till morning to read your reply, otherwise I wouldn't have slept a wink. I will have to assume that the ones that you see in the shop are the ones that need repairs. Maybe there are a couple of Lincolns still left on the road...and hopefully this will be one of them.
And the best part about this...the Wife is happy!

Great choice. Nothing wrong with Chevy, but I like my Fords!

Great- Glad you're joining the fine people that drive Fords!
I bet that Lincoln will run forever too. I have a friend with an 89 Mark 7, he has a heavy foot, and it just keeps on going!

Everything has a way of evening out. After having my '03 F-350 Power Stroke in the shop for the 10th time in 30,000 miles, I traded for a new Duramax. FoMoCo and I have ended our 30 year relationship for good!

48 years old and owned nothing but fords forever Bought a lincoln to take my family on vacation to Yellowstone. A week before we are to leave head gasket goes out.300 mile into trip A/C goes out. Frustrated so we stop at a burger joint to cool off and when we came out the car is lying on the ground with an airline popped for the suspension. Limp over to a ford /licoln dealer and repair airleak and A/C. A day lost and 18 miles down the road suspension is on the ground again. Limp back ,need a valve ,but have to order. Rented a car (GM) finshed vacation thru Yellowstone with rental and was so impressed with handling and gas mileage that I started to think GM. Got home and wife went grocery shopping with lincoln ,came out from store and ignition switch had failed. Next day traded lincoln for bonneville and my explorer for a tahoe and been in heaven eversince especially with the gas mileage and the soft ride on these compared to the fords .
