there are some AC coming up for sale 'round here,
but I don't know wich one to buy...
there is a 190XT. 185. 200D.
would like to do some plowing, like a three bottem? would the 185 be able to pull it?
I am thinking the 190 would be the best choice.
the 185 comes with a kelly loader.
also would like to pull my JD 24T baler with it.
some have said the 200 would be OVER KILL! lol
what do you guys think?

I have driven a 190xt series 3, and used a 200 a lot. The 200 is a BEAST of a tractor, and i like it a lot. I'm not a fan of the power director. It works, and you sort of have live power, but i like pushing in the clutch and having the pto keep turning. I've only used the 200 a few times on a baler because of this, and i dont think it would be good at all on a round baler. Hook it to a disc though, and hang on cause it will amaze you with its pulling power.

I have seat time on a 185, a 190 series 3 and a 200, basically the 190 and 200 are almost the same exact tractor with the very same engine, you wouldn't know the difference when you hit the starter button. about the only difference is the 190 had a range lever you had to push down to unlock it from position and then move it, and the 200 had notches and there was no pushing down on the lever, just move it to the side and then to where ever you want. I love the exhast note with a straight pipe those tractors have. Only complaint is they don't make much low end power, but with a bump of the throttle lever, they make plenty. The 185's had that bent up shifting lever connected to a weak transmission and most of those now have troubles poping out of gear and the parking brake isn't the best either.
In my opinion, either the 190 or 200 would be my choice.

Oops, I meant 190XT series 3, and my experience was all on diesels.

I've had all three any of the three will do what you want. Owned a 190XT for 30 years a real powerhouse for it's size, my brother had a 200 was maybe a little smoother with the blower, but had the same horse power, The 185 has the same engine without the Turbo. They all are good work tractor's.

Tim,

The only one of the three that I've ever been around is the XT190.

They dig and pull just like a darned badger! Pretty darned good outfit from what I've seen.

Based on my experience with a 170 and 175 the 185 should be more than enough tractor. I have never been around a 190XT a fellow around here used to own a 200 and he realy liked it. My 170 diesel will do what you are talking about.

How about a 180. I drove one some and it seemed to be a good tractor.
