There was a recall on 190 and the original 2 spider diff was replaced with a 3 spider but only on the ones that caused trouble. If you are lucky you have one of the latter. I have no idea how you would tell with out opening it up. I am a former AC dealer. Ed

They all have a problen of jumping out of 3 and4 after they get a lot of hours and the power director is pricie to fix and the hdy. pump is real expencive . I have fixed a few of them and was shocked at the prices of parts . A lot of power out of a small cube engine and they are nice to drive. I bought a super nice 200 once and it was a good thing that it was at a auction that had a ride and drive as when i tested it it jumped out of 4ht and the high side of the power director was slippen good thing i checked it or i would have been out the 7250 that i bid on it plus the 2500 to fix it with no labor.

The series 3 and 4 where pretty good but the series 1 and 2 had tranny problems and where bad about poping out of a couple of the gears.

Gas or Diesel? The first large tractor on our farm was a 190XT gas w/ power crater. It was such a step up from the 300U, I thought it was a monster. We pulled 4-16s in plack dirt and sand. I loved the tractor and my father still has it. Drawbacks: Fuel behind the seat made it a little more difficult to place drawbar pins or look at pto etc. We moved round bales a couple of miles at a time with it and it was pretty slow on the road. Being a gas burner it drank heavily. THe hydrolics were good, the engine performed flawless and it was comfortable. I always liked the looks too.
