After reading post on the high prices of these new tractors.
Which one of these do you like the best for anyone who has any experience with these J.D, New Holland.etc..... ..
They sure are tempting.

Kubota, JD, NH (aka Case now) all have good machines, pick the dealer, features, and price you like. Can't really buy a bad one.

Agco has a pretty good machine as well, just less dealers so it doesn't get mentioned as much.

Stay away from anything built in China. The workmanship on them is aweful.

Korea makes some pretty good vanilla machines for less $$$ if you want to go cheap. As well, there are some from Japan like Yanmar that are pretty good bang for the buck.

www.tractorbynet.com is a good place to go to discuss newer compacts.

I went up one size to a 5105 with a loader on it it still fits in the garage and it does everything
NOW I KNOW WHY NOTHING RUNS LIKE A DEERE. I looked at the others, but the JD history speaks for itself.

Hello,
I am not pickin fights, just asking. I looked at them too and it seems like all the Kubotas I see in the Penny Pincher (want ads/for sale ads)are all freshly rebuilt. Normally, when a machine is rebuilt, it will get used for another good while and then sold. Why are they (or it seems) all needing to be rebuilt? And they are not that old. It appears that the heads are mentioned many times. Again, they look kinda stylish and I have heard people swearing by them.

Depends on your needs ,but only one maker knows that with a hydro that people only usually have one foot on thier right side to run the hydro so they put the turning brakes on the left so you can actually use them. Same maker also has the quickest attach front end loaders. Can you name them ?? Here's a clue----

They are JD

Case IH & New Holland both have steering brakes on the left side. They have for several years.

We just love our JD 4600, 12-12 power reverser, 4wd and a loader. We've had it about 3 yrs. 165 hrs. Use it in norther MN and it's a great cold weather starter!

I've got about 260 hours on my JD 4400. It's a dream machine, and have never had a problem. 35 HP engine works great, power steering is awesome. It just does not have the same cool sound as my B, or torque at 800 RPM....

Not many bad ones out there anymore. The main thing that I would consider is dealer support. Of course, JD, NH Case, Kubota should not be a problem for there dealer network is strong...
