Just a novice; tractor will start when I prime carb w/fuel on a rag, but then stops. I added new fuel to tank, tractor has sat for several months.

Fuel is flowing from gravity feed on tank. The bowl below the carb is dry. Should it be full of fuel? What can I do to get it running?

Sounds like the main fuel jet is stuck closed from sitting with gas in it. Light tap with something light, like a scerewdriver handle "MAY" jar it loose. Carb body is diecast and is not repairable, and replacement carbs are over $150. Be gentile.

Take the carb apart and rebuild it.
Kits are only a few dollars.
