I have recently received a 1972 (?) KID 8 wheel amphibious vehicle. The research I have done tells me that this vehicle was made for one year in 1972 to be used as a tractor in SW Asia. I was wondering if any of you gentelmen have any information on this thing. What is it worth? Does this classify as a tractor? When I get it restored can I show it?

Here are a few pictures of this contraption. This is not mine but the condition is about the same.

They were produced in 1969-1970 by LTV Areospace for military. The contract did not fall through. I have two of these. One is the V-4 gasoline model, fully restored and the other is an I-4 diesel model that I am currently restoring. I have a lot of information on the LTV Kid. Email me if you want any information or help/advice on rebuilding.

I think they are kinda neat and see one at a show once in a while. I think most places would welcome you. The last one I saw running was several years ago a farmer that had lost a leg had one to get around with.

Your pic has a broken link Kevin as you posted a html link and not a picture link or img link.

Right click your picture then click on prorerty's and it will show the url link not the picture link.
