We found an old tractor on a property we just bought with the markings
John Deere
Big 4
H854D(?)
Is there any value?

If they have a Big 4 then they got a lot of money sitting there just waiting for a buyer.

WAY back, John Deere, lacking a tractor of their own, had a marketing agreement with Gas Traction Company/Emerson-Brantingham, and Deere dealers sold the "BIG 4" tractor.

Is THIS what you are talking about?

If it is, there's more information in Randy Leffingwell's book "John Deere, History of the Tractor". (ISBN-10: D-7603-2375-5)

Look in Chapter One.

I would like to see a picture of that. Is it 4W.D.? Also what size tires? What is your location? From about 1950 to 1960 there were less than 10 BIG-4's assyembled in Elwood, Il. I know of 3 of them. My e-mail is open. Armand

A picture would help.
