Hey Kevin, aren't you the guy that posted about another site that sold used tractors and implements a week or so ago? I went there and checked it out, then came back with a short post, but didn't write the website down. I wanted to go there again, but when came back here to find your post, couldn't find it. Guess it must've gotten removed. Can you Email me that site? I'm uncovered and would appreciate it. Thanks much.

Mark

I hadn't heard of the forum you mentioned until now.

I have a 1996 Ford 1720 that is an absolute joy. I looked at larger tractors, but really didn't like the physical size of them. I was making a purchase for vegetable growing on a small holding, so the smaller tractor made sense. Easy to get on and off of, etc.

It handles a 54" roto-tiller well in my sandy loam soil. The quick attach loader does a respectable job for its size.

I like the old tractors, but for functionality the newer ones really do have the edge overall---in my opinion.

I have a Ford 1520 that I bought new in 1989. Compact and easy to get into tight spaces. It is 4 wheel drive. I bought the loader which comes off in about 90 seconds and goes back on almost as fast. I also have just about anything you could think of in the way of 3 pt equipment to use with it. This tractor is my right hand. I couldn't get along without it. When I bale, I take it out in the field and use it to spot wagons or move things out of the way. The Farmall does the rest. Both are great.

I collect and restore old Olivers, but I've had a JD 950 diesel with a bushhog loader, mower and drag box attachments. It has been the most dependable tractor for us. I'm going to sell it to get into a bigger one that will work well with a bale grapple. Hope to find one as good as the 950 is. Larry NE IL
