Is this a live pto? They were available as optional equipment on the 430. if this is the case, it has a 2 stage clutch and pressure plate and has to be aduusted seperately from the wheel clutch pressure plate. The first half of the clutch movement disengages the wheels and the last half disengages the pto. This is a real lulu to reassemble when you break the tractor apart and replace clutches and disks. Very nerve wracking to line up those 2 sets of splines, as one set is fine and the other set is coarse. When assembled you will be able to breathe again. Many clutch disks have been ruined by getting in a hurry on this job. Trust me I learned it the hard way!

Have you followed the instruction manual on how to adjust the clutch pedal free play with the ecentric nut? If that doesn't work the internal pushrod can rub, wear then bend at the weak spot. Sometimes when the clutch is replaced the tinkerer doesn't get the clutch actuator finger clearances set correctly on the pressure plate.
