i have a Long 5n1 backhoe, i understand it was built on a Leyland 384 chassis.it has a foot control shuttle fwd/rev,hi/low shift,and i think a
four speed shift,no knob to show shift pattern. could anyone tell me if a 384 farm tractor is the same, or was this made for Long this way? id like to get books on this for repairs.thanks rick

I am considering the purchase of a Long 5-n-1 (model 1400, Ser# 2330). But its in pretty tough condition and my concern is whether or not I'll be able to find parts and a service manual.

I see that you and Warren are ahead of me in this game and would appreciate your input on the availability of the manual and parts.

I have a parts manual and operators manual for the Long 5-N-1 backhoe, model 1400, serial number 1191 and am willing to scan some pages for you. The operators manual is about 40 pages long. The parts manual is over 300 pages.
