Now, I know this is WAY off topic but I also know somebody here is going to answer this for me. Over the past few weeks of watching the NFL playoff games (and in today's Superbowl), all the team helmets had a little square of what looked like grey duct tape on the back right lower side of the helmets, just down and to the right of the American flag decal. It was obviously covering up some decal or symbol that all the helmets had on them. Anyone know what was underneath?

That is in memory of Pat Tilman, the player that gave up pro. football after 9-11 to join the Army and was killed. CLW

Thanks for that, now I know. Was there a decal being covered up or was it just a simple piece of tape in lieu of a decal? Thanks again, that was a sad story about that young man.

I couldn't say for sure as I didn't see it. I just know that ALL teams were going to wear a symble to honor him. That is the only thing I could think it would be since you say all teams had it.

Might be one of the sticker gizmos like the stores use to set off the alarm if one gets stolen..... .
