Manual calls for a hydraulic "snubber" between pressure Gauge and pump when testing hydraulic system pressure. What the Heck is a Hydraulic Snubber?....Thanks Keith

When I used to build hydraulic systems I used a small shutoff valve in front of the gage and then just crack the valve open to get a pressure reading.

It's a restrictor, or similar device that dampens pressure pulsations produced by the system so the gauge will not be damaged, and/or and accurate reading can be made, without the gauge needle fluttering so badly that an accurate reading cannot be obtained.
