Howdy folks,

Well, it's a lot worse than I thought. I dug into the R's pony motor to see what was ailing the transmission. It hadn't been engaging the big motor's flywheel. Well, found out it was a simple issue. A spring that holds tension on that gear had come loose. Okay, with that fixed it was time to look into why the motor kept running off. Governor was my first thought and I was right. Took the plate off the front of the engine last night and found that the governor weight support was pretty much in pieces and the weights were nowhere to be found. Got part numbers and just got off the phone with local JD dealer. Yep, the weight support and weights are obsolete. So now I'm stuck. Does anyone know where I could find these parts. This is critical. I'm gonna try all the places I know and you guys were first on the list. Look forard to hearing from you. God bless.

I have the remains of an "R" starting engine out in a shed. I"m going out there this afternoon to look for an Onan con rod for another guy, and I"ll see if the governor parts are still there. If so, you could have them for a nominal packing charging, and cost of mailing. Email me, if you"d like.

Howdy,

You are a tremendous blessing Bob. I would most certainly be interested in purchasing the parts from you if you have them. I truly appreciate it. E-mail me or post another response here and let me know. Thank you so much. God bless.

If no success at Bob's you might try Sharp's Antique Tractor Works, Fair Grove, Missouri, 65648
Phone number 417-933-2254. They probably got a hundred old 2 poppers out back. Later, Harley
