FARMALL 400 BUCKET IS SLOW AND LACKS LIFTING POWER. DRAINED THE FLUID AND BLED CYLINDERS AND STILL THE SAME. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE GETS ABOVE 45 DEGREES IT WORKS FINE, BUT STILL LACKS A HEAVY LOAD LIFT ?? PUMP PROBLEMS OR MAYBE SOME WATER IN THE LINE YET?????

Did you check for a screen on the suction side of the pump? Its been a long time since I owned one of these tractors so can't be positive there is one but if there is one and its clogged with sludge it could account for the slowness in cold weather. If a worn pump is your problem it should perform better with cold oil than warm or hot oil.

My 400 was really weak too and I got a pump from Steel Wheel Ranch and it is like a new one now. Your pump might be wore out.

I just bought me a 4oo tractor, could you tell me how many hp it might be. Am thinking of putting a loader on it.I am wondering about the hydraulics too.
