I've drained the transmission (2 plugs) and the rear end (one plug at the very back/bottom. The hydrolic steering and 3 pt hitch still work. Where is the drain for the hydrolic res, and where is the filter? I have water in the hydrolic system, the machine freezes up and the steering and 3 pt stop functioning. How and where do I drain it?

Thanks Sibulkin

The hydraulic filter is on the right side inside the reservoir under the seat. It is a long tube made out of fine screen with a flange on the outside end. You have to loosen and remove the short piece of hose on the hydraulic line, remove the small bolt on the reservoir that holds the filter flange flush and pull the filter straight out to clean it. If I remember right (it has been a while)there may be an o-ring behind the flange to seal it when you reassemble. the Service Manual from CIH dealer gives a better description of the procedure. If your tractor is what I think it is. The drain for the hydraulic reservoir in on the upper back housing just behind the seat.
