Made it back home from Mississippi with heavy heart but with the encouragement from God's word and from the good folks right here on this site. It was good to read the replies to my post.

Thanks to all for the kind words of encouragement and support and your prayers. Though we are strangers in the "face-to-face" meaning, you are all friends and your words mean a whole lot and are appreciated. I will repeat something I said recently when I lost my tractor buddy "Mr. Frank" awhile back. Do all you can for your parents, say all you can to your parents, and thank them for all the things they've done for you over the years. I was fortunate to have taken my mom to dinner a few days before she died and I spoke to her on the phone the night before she died, but there is always the thought that I could've done more or said more. Now I'll wait 'til we are reunited in heaven.

Kevin,

I know the next few months (at the very least) will be difficult. Everyday life throws reminders of her at you when you least expect it, and it can catch you with a big lump in your throat quite often. Over time the pain of the loss you feel will ease, and you will focus on cherishing the memories of her. Thank God that you had her as long as you did, and also be thankful that you had a good relationship with her...there are so many people who don't know what that is like and have empty lives because of it.

Kevin -
Glad to hear you made it home safely. Trust in God's will and over time I hope it gets better. This is never easy for anyone. God Bless you and all of yours. Welcome home.

Kevin,
I know it's hard to look for the good part right now. But I can tell you from experience that losing my Dad made this Pony tractor come down to me, and look at the aquaintances I have now via this site.

Kevin, I'm sorry about your loss. I agree with saying and doing while they're alive. The weekly visit to the cemetery talking to a couple of hard, cold, uncaring pieces of granite just doesn't get it done. Regards, Cosmo

I lost my brother (29 years old) in a car accident 4 years ago...we had just hauled a tractor with his new F250 Diesel...this was some well spent quality time with him...and then 3 days later he was gone...sure glad we did that haul.
So sad I didnt do more with him...it was right before harvest....sure was a hard fall without him.
I am sorry for your loss and it is hard, but will get smoother in a year or 2.

My Wife and I have each lost both our parents, and a child. It NEVER gets easier. My condolences.

Sorry to hear of your loss Kevin. Mothers are so very special. My Mother lived in Indiana while I lived down here in Louisiana. I took vacation early in February because she called and wanted me to. It was the last week she was in good health. I took my last week in May to visit, but her health by then was so bad,we couldn't do anything. I was so saddened when she passed on in September, but still cherish the time we had together in February. It will get better as time passes and I know God will support and keep you through these trying times. Keep the Faith and God Bless you and Yours. Bob D. (La)
