How about 555 Oliver, made until 1975? Allis 175 made til 1980. PowerKing made into 1980's. Gibsons were pretty small and lasted into the late 50s. 3 cyl Fords made into the 80's, I'm pretty sure. However, some models made in Mexico, some in Japan. Also some 3 cyl Massey Fergusons. Not too sure, but suspect that both Ford and Massey engines(Perkins) were bought in from England. Some models of Massey did use Continental 4 cyl engines into the late 60's.

The White American tractors were almost totally built in the USA, both the 60 and the 80. As far as I know, the only thing made outside of the USA was the Cummins engine castings. Even the engine castings were machined, and the engines were assembled in the USA.

This is the only small "real" tractor that i can think of that's "still" actually made in the USA.

For many years nothing under 100 HP was even assembled in USA. This is changing lately as quite a few are at least assembled here, using parts gathered up from all over ( just like cars ). I talked to a fellow that works for MTD which builds the Cub Cadet compacts he said some of their new models are mostly USA except for the engines. They could be the closest right now ?

You may be in for a disappointment. I do not know of any compact or sub-compact tractors that are 100% made in the U.S.A. any more. Some of them do claim to be made here, but when you dig deeper you will find that they are only assembled here, using foreign made parts.

I found the same thing...unfortunately if all the parts of a tractor were made here in the USA, the cost of the tractor would be so high, the manufacturer could not compete in the marketplace.

BEST SOLUTION---buy an older tractor and remanufacture it yourself (or hire someone to do it) with made in the USA parts. You'll likely get more for your money anyway.

you know I dont believe that part about beeing so high you couldnt afford it... I think the CORPORATE Bosses are just using that difference to pad there and the stockholders pockets.. if you wanted to do it I am sure they could be priced competitively--- its just someone would take a pay cut... someone at the top.

I also think the big bosses sell us out and fill there pockets.I was realy wanting to know out of the big tractor companys like (IH,JD,FORD,)who was last to make a small tractor here,it does not matter to me if its in the 80s.

I feel the same way as the original poster of this thread. Once I was told by a saddle maker the reason his saddles cost so much was because of the 'Profit"! That being said, his saddles were worth the extra profit he made.

PS. I went to 15 stores looking for a toaster NOT made in China. Never found one. Things need to change in this country!
