Hmmmm.... 1000 acres, 400 cultivated.
'56 Ford 860 awaiting restoration
'74 Ford 4000 still goin' strong
'88 Cat D4H
'91 Ford 3930
'98 NH TS90
'01 NH LS170 Skidsteer.... couldn't live without this, and don't know how I survived before.
Now last but certainly not least, an '85 Ford 7710, definitely my fav. Over the years we also had a ~'40 9N, '64 Fordson Dexta, a Cockshutt 20, a Belarus 520A, and the most trouble free tractor we ever owned, an '85 Ford 5610. The 5610 was traded, along with the red pig on the TS90. That's quite a list now that I look at it.

I have two; a 1954 Ferguson TO-30 and a 1982 Ford 4610 with an Ezee-On Loader. I use the TO-30 to haul irrigation pipe, spray for weeds, grade the driveway and plow snow. I use the 4610 to plow and disk, to fertilize the pastures, drive posts, move dirt and rocks (we've got lots of rocks here at the foot of the Mission Mountains!). I like 'em both but the 4610 is lot easier to use and a damm sight more comfortable.

I have 7 tractors for 500 acres; 4 are yt type tractors and 3 are modern. They are 1952 case S, 1953 goden jubilee Ford, 1967 Case 930 D, 1973 Deutz D6006, 1989 Hesston 100-90, 1993 Agco allis 5670, and 1996 MF 8140. As far as a favorite the Deutz wins hands down. It racks up by far the most hours and I have people line up to use it. The line is much shorter for any of the others.

- F-12 Dad bought in 35 - outside rusting away
- F-12 and F-14 bil gave me to replace Dad's F-12 that he left outside to rust away. They're outside rusting away.
- D2 Cat Dad bought in 41
- JD 39 B I bought 20+ years ago to restore - it HAS moved to the next shed over.
- lil JD 345 mower I bought when son moved to farm house (3 whole acres with buildings) two years ago.
- 53 H I bought 1 1/2 years ago so the 345 wouldn't get beat to pieces. Kinda filled in for my Dad's H which I DON'T have.
- 60 Ford 641 I bought a few months ago 'cause an H with a JD 45 loader and a drawbar bush hog isn't the greatest utility tractor. ( and I always WANTED a Ford)
- a brand new NH 170 skid steer (with trailer) 'cause Ford wasn't quite enough for some jobs, AND I'm terminally stooopid. (gonna rent it and son out to make payments! uh huh!)

Now I can't swing early retirement (layoff) so I need to get another job, but I'm addicted to this durned tractor forum. (I'm zeroing in on my dad's H and I'm looking at a really nice MF 65)

I need to SELL something but I love 'em all!

Then I keep listening to Allan and I'm about ready to call my cousin about that 70 acres he has to rent.

Just how good a road tractor is that 966?

When my bil was farming bits and pieces all over the area, Dad always referred to him as a road farmer.

1 9N Ford, 4 D JDs, 1 H JD, 1 R JD, 1 720 JD, 1 WD Allis, 1 F-20, 1 F-14, 3 15-30s, 1-10-20, a W-9 and a WD-9 McCormicks, 3 L Cases, 1 S Case, a couple of walk behinds and a Bobcat. All just toys for 40 acres. The 720 does the most work but it sure is fun to see how much you can pull with an L Case.

I have a Deere 60 just about payed off with labor and am considering working towards a Farmall 560 after that one. I have big plans for the 60.

Of dad's tractors - 4640, 4430, 4020, 1086, farmall M - I'd say the 4020 decisively.

I'd really, really like to get ahold of my late grandfather's 3010 and 3020 Diesels. Then they would both be my favorites.

Then, of course, there's my F-I-L's 4430 open station, 4020, 3020, 1050....

Curse you for asking such hard questions!!!!!

2 Olivers
2 ACs
1 Farmall

My land is now 40 acres - mostly planted pines. Also share cropping another 20 acres. I wanted each one of these for a specific reason when I got them. Picking a favorite is challenging but I would have to go with the Ollies, especially my 550 Dsl!!

I could narrow it down between the 900 and m though. By the way I have a set of mounted planters for the 900, dearborn 12-12,does anyone know where I can get a manual to set up,or maybe a pic installed. I've tried cnh and all the manual web sites I can think of. Thanks.
