I have some web site called Lop.com that thakes over my tool bar and search engine. I can not get rid of it for the life of me. My kids may have downloaded something, I do not know. There web site says that if you download some software from the web part of the agreeement of use is getting them as a search engine or a homepage.

Add/remove programs does not work. Has anyone had this crap on their PC and how did you get rid of it?? thanks Paul

There's no need to spend money on Spysweeper when there are better and FREE programs available that work very well at removing many, many pests such as Lop. The best of these tools is Spybot, available free from the link below. Another good program is Adaware, which also removes spyware. I have BOTH of these programs on my computer and run each of them at least once a week. Oh, and don't forget to click the "search for updates' link before you run your first spyware scan. Just be sure to read the instructions before running either of them so you don't remove more than you need. Spybot also has a resident protection program called TeaTimer that notifies you when programs try to make changes to your computer. If you have no luck with either of these programs, go to www.annoyances.org and post your problem on the appropriate Windows operating forum. As I recall, the Lop variants are some of the easier nasties to remove so you shouldn't have too much trouble getting if off your system. Good luck!!

I have tried those free ones and you can't beat spy sweeper besides this soft ware learns and updates automaticly I never have to do any thing it does it all and it won't let any program changes occur unless I click ok ,those free one were not that good. You get what you pay for.

Had the same problem, cannot remember how I got rid of it, but I ran I don't know how many malware/adware/spyware programs, nothing worked, I finally found it in the remove/install program, got rid of the problem.

After you get rid of it, stop using internet explorer and MS "look out". Use Mozilla 1.7.2(with mail program) or the newer, bigger, firefox and thunderbird.

I had similar problem, i completley ignored it and changed to mozilla firefox.

Brilliant, brilliant peice of kit. Also if your on a modem it seems so much faster with a decent browser, reders about 10 times as fast as IE.
