Would it hurt the brake drums to chain a Ford 2N down on a flatbed trailer and have it sitting on the brake drums to transport it?

Much appreciated

Joe,

I wouldn't set the drums directly on the trailer deck. If you don't have any soft cribbing blocks, go to the nearest building supply store or grocery store and grab a few pallets. Set the tractor on the pallets and let the weight crush/break some of the boards to spread the load out. Then you won't place a "point load" on the drums. Old tires would also work the same way or better.

Why not take a few short lengths of 4x4 to use as cribbing under the axle housings, that way you can snug the chains down well.

What happened to the tires and wheels?? If you don't have them I'd put some old tires or something like that under them instead on being just on the drums. you might end up haveing to replace the drum if it sits wood/metal deck of the trailor and the drum

I think that the belly of the tractor is lower than the brake drums.
