The picture isn't actually 'here' in the messages. There is just an address embedded in the message pointing over to some other web location where the picture is stored.

What sometimes happens is the original poster did not correctly create that address link; or the original poster linked to a picture stored on his own hard drive - then it is only available for him to view, we don't ever get to! (Sometimes the method the other person described will allow you to see a picture with an incorrect address.)

Another issue esp with older messages here is that the original picture gets moved or erased from wherever it was stored, and we no longer can access it.

Also, there could be a temporary problem with the computers wherever the picture is being stored, and you can't see it now, but in an hour or a day or whatever it will appear again.

The problem is rarely yours if you see the red X. It means your browser can't find the picture at this time, as there is nothing to be found at the place it is told to look, for one reason or another.

Sometimes you can go directly to the location where the picture is stored to see it by:
1. Right click on the "X"; then left click on "Properties." 2. highlight the Address (URL); right click for the menu and left click on "Copy." 3. Paste the (URL) into your Address box under your toolbar and hit "Enter." This takes you directly to the picture and often opens it for you.

Thanks for that info. I always thought that something was out of kilter my OS, ISP, or my internet setup properties, but never followed up on it. Hmm? I guess it's not just racer types that have gone and understand high tech with PC's, some tractor guys do too. Thanks much.

Oh, by the way, I see NASCAR and Indy guys with PC's hooked up to the cars to dial them in all the time, if I were to come by your place, would I see you with a laptop hooked up to a black box dialing in your tractor? LOL. Just joking there, and thanks much again.

Mark

I asked the same question awhile back- apparently the little red X indicates a with the post-er, not us post-ees, and nobody can open it.
