I have an Oliver 99,1956.I just restored it and a friend who had an Oliver 950 with a cab that needed repair badly. He said it was made also for the Super 99.I sanded, scraped, put new glass in the windows and painted it up. It sits perfectly on the 99 just as if it were meant for her. I took it to a local tractor show this summer and had quite afew questions asked that I could not answer. It definitly looks factory made, but has no tags or serial numbers anywhere on it.Does anyone know if this cab was strictly for the Oliver 950, 990 or the 995? Does anyone know what company may have manufacured it? Would appreciate anyones help. Thanks - John

I have a piece of old sales literature which shows it as a factory option. There are also several options for the cab; ie, canvss rear curtain or steel door. It appears similar to the cab offered on the JD 820/830. It really is not particularly attractive. Although it would keep the dust, rain and cold wind off you, it would be hot in the summer and extremely noisy all the time. I remember an older engineer who after seeing my JD 830 with a cab commented that it was about as attractive as a saddle on a sow. I agreed and took the cab off.

Hello I was wondering if you have steel doors on you cab or canvas? Is this brochure you spoke of black & white with green lettering and 4 photos of the 99 with cab?

thanks
Rob

I'll put this on my to do list. My son has been given the money to purchase a scanner for his school work (which he said he needed), but he is between quarters and he is more interested in his girl friend. School is a whole month away and to him that is eternity. If and when I get him focused, (mabe a bump on the head with a lead pipe), I'll scan the page(s) and try to post. Yes, it shows the cab on a tractor. Yes, I have a steel door on my unattached cab but it is a JD830 cab. Yes, the sales brochure is white, green and black, but I think it has only two photos with the tractor/cab. I went to take another look, and the better half decided that my "stuff" should be buried rather than accessible. In her defense, it was a 3 ft stack near the bed. It just was so comforting having all that information close at hand. When I get everything aligned in this household, I'll dig out the brochure and give the scanner a whorl. However until then, I pose a question: I have two JD 1960 Modern Farming sales brochures in this now displaced stack, summarizing the equipment available for sale. I have only seen one other, but I'm sure that mother Deere has several. I am not wanting to sell, I paid a premium price (in my opinion) when I bought them, but I was wondering if these are relatively unusual. Isn't it a hoot to pay good money for something that we had given to us, and without much thought subsequently discarded it. Anyway, probably should have asked this question on the Deere side.

I have a couple of them, I think I have one with the 30 series Deeres. I am like you I have that stuff in boxes and my wife wanted the box I had some of that stuff and she burnt the stuff and kept the box. She istened to me for a while on that one.

You have my up-most sympathy. On a somewhat lighter note, it is comforting that others have also had trouble conveying the importance of this "stuff".
