I have a 1944 issue of the "Red Tractor Book" published by Implement & Tractor of Kansas City, MO. Does anyone know any history about this publication or its approx. value?

Pre 1955 copies are worth about $20 to $40 depending on age and condition. Company goes under the name INTERTEC now. Publish a couple of magazines including "Implement & Tractor".

They also publish the IT (actually I&T) service manuals.

One other publication is their Product File. Similiar format to the Red Book but is all advertising and listings of companies. No implement or tractor specs. Well indexed and invaluable when trying to determine the manufacturer of a long rusted piece of equipment.

Heck, he doesn't even have to list his on ebay to get it "appraised". Others already have:

I have a 1958 copy that I use all the time. Wouldn't sell it.
