Does anyone out there know anything about parsons cable plows? I recently purchased a model DP-100 (tractor only). It has a 4 cylinder detroit and is 4 wheel drive. Looks like an oliver 1950. Did oliver sell industrial tractors to parsons for pulling plows? Mine is missing all the sheetmetal and the front nosepiece. Is there a good place to look for these pieces? I would like to convert it into a regular tractor and restore it.

Yes Parsons built the cable plows in Newton Iowa during the 70s. As I remember there were 2 models, the one you described and one that looked like a turnapull. It was based on an Oliver frame with Detroit engine and 4 wheel drive.
Call me at 515-830-0445 early mornings 7:00 am and I may be able to help.

You have a spec number and serial number for the tractor. A hydraulic unit off of an 1850 will work as will the PTO. You can find me on the hartparr web site as well as others that can help. (www.hartparroliver.org)

Mr. Hoppenworth, you said for me to call you early mornings around 7:00 am but you did not say what time zone you were in. I am in the eastern time zone and did not want to disturb you if you lived in earlier time zones. If you would like to email me directly, my address is burnettel3@aol.com
