Hi Russ, Sounds like water seperated out of the oil in the bucket cylinder during storage. If the cyl rod was in, then water would be all at the lower end. If the cyl rod was out then there could have been water on top of the bore piston. If it was water then the bore is ruff with rust, probably about 8" of the bore. I used a engine cylinder hone with lots of oil to remove rust. Could have split a piston seal the last time out. The oil is by-passing the piston seal. If there were other hydraulic problems up the line then all cylinders would act the same way. That tells me you dealing with just one bad cylinder. There easy to rebuild, give it a try. I have seperated water out of hydraulic oil by letting the oil sit for several months, then syphion off the oil at the top as the water will settle to the bottom of the can. I still can't find out where the water is getting into my system but about every 3yrs it gets about gallon of water in 20gal of oil. T_Bone
