I am having trouble with fueln pouring through my carb. on my ford 8n.I found A crack in the float, and repaired it. I have had the carb apart many times adjusting the float different ways, without success. Has anyone had this problem? the carb is rebuilt, could the new parts be bad? I could use some advise. Thanks, Jack

The float may be too heavy after your reapirs to float properly, or it may be bent, causing it to catch on the float bowl, or the tang on the float that presses "UP" on the needle may be bent, causing the needle to be jammed against the side of it's bore, rather than rising and closing off the flow of fuel.

If you are holding the carb, and flip it upside down, does the weight of the float hold the needle closed, so you cannot blow into the carburetor inlet (by mouth)?

New floats are less than $10.00, and available from many sources, including this website. If your's is heavy or bent, it may be worth trying a new one.

I agree, I also have tried repairing floats, it's kinda like beatin your head against the wall, any more, if the float is questionable, I just replace with a new one.
