How much snow did you guys get, I got about 4-5 inches in Michigan. All the trees are covered with snow, looks great, I wish I had a snowmobile. This the first thanksgiving that I can remember that we had snow.

I remember a 13 inch snow at St. Louis started late Wednesday night and was all there by Thanksgiving morning. They didn't have the plows to handle that.

Here around Winnipeg, Manitoba we got our first inch of snow Sunday evening. We had a very wet summer and fall and farmers just finished harvesting the grain and oil seeds recently. Most of the sunflowers and corn is no good fom all the wet. Many were still on the land Sunday afternoon. I guess some of the work won"t get done this fall. Most fields had foot deep ruts from the very wet harvest operations. Most newer combines have 4WD and I even saw some on tracks this fall. I"m 58 years old and I can"t ever remember a year like this. Until about 3-4 weeks ago we pretty much had rain 2 out of 3 days since May 10th. 20 years ago this crop would have just mostly stayed in the field and nowdays we have this wonderful equipment but the financial pressures are even greater as well. Everything we have and do is so much better today; but has any of it really made us any better people.

Here in New York State in St.Lawrence county we are still snow free. I live in upstate New York about 20 miles from the St lawrence river right by the Canada border.

We have about 3in of snow here in IL. Coming how from work last night I only saw 1 set of snow mobile track which I though was strange. Usually there is dozens if there is only a dusting of snow.

I hail from south central Kansas. Our snow arrived starting about 8 p.m. on Tuesday. By 9:30 the wet sticky snow was breaking tree branches and downing some power lines. I think just service entrances, but some 2200 residents lost power, some all night long. We had a total of 6 inches of snowfall. It was beautiful with it covering the trees, power lines, etc.

Yesterday I put my chainsaw to use at the neighbors. I came home with three tractor scoops full of firewood. They got several piles of branches which the city will pick up.

The streets are almost entirely clear already since the soil temperature had finished last week at 61º and melted it off quickly. The 6 inches of snow yielded .89" of moisture.

We received the same 6 inches of wet snow in NE Kansas (40 miles west of KC). Had planned on harvesting a turkey for dinner, but decided to wait until Christmas and better weather.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

We got between 4 and 5 inches here in Midland-Saginaw area. We were on our last 100 acres of corn, and franticly trying to beat the snow, but to no avail. The last trip to the elevator around 5P.M. was a real adventure. 10 to 15 mph for the entire 30 mile trip, and that was less stressful than the 12 mile trip, empty, from the elevator to the barn. I guess we"ll finish the last 80 acres of corn when the snow melts a bit, which promises to be a muddy finish. Will have to dust off the grain cart I guess. The 200 acres of soys in the field will just have to wait for better days. Oh well, its Thanksgiving day, so its "Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother"s house" for turkey and football. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I don"t know about the rest of you guys, but I have so much to be thankful for, that the list is too long to post.

Here in north central Ohio we are getting a trace of snow. I do remember a few years that we had the first snow on Thanksgiving here because Grandma and Grandpa would come over to our house and we worried they wouldn't make it safely. I can also remember the year the neighbor had his farm sale on the friday after Thanksgiving. They had a great turnout and it was something like 70 degrees out and sunny.

This is the first year i can remember that we HAVEN'T had snow, and lots of it, by hallowe'en. By the time your turkey day rolls around, we're usually under about 2 feet of snow up here. We've only got about 3 inches here so far, and that's only from about 3 days ago. Still none at home in southern SK.
