I have a Bobcat 743b skid steer that creeps slowly forward. Is this an adjustment?

The linkage on your bobcat can be adjusted so they don't creep. The rubber bushings in the end of the linkage are probely bad also the cams on the levers on top of the pump have flat spots & the blocks that rub on the cams have flat spots. If you want to repair the cheep way you can turn the cams a 1/2 turn & turn the blocks over & install new bushings make sure the center spring is ok and not binding up Then adj. everything. Don

I'm no expert but I think it's just the nature of the beast. Hydrostats just tend to "creep" Dad's 753 creeped and his new New holland Ls160 creeps. Even my lawn tractor creeps.

I would guess it's just because it's very hard to get the lever to dead center. Any slight amount forward or back and it'll creep a little bit.

Set the brake when you're out of it and you'll have no worries.

Yes and no. Sometimes you can adjust the tension on the springs that hold the levers in center if the levers are causing the creep. Under the cab you will find where the levers move back and forth and there are two spings in there I think. If you tighten up the springs the lever will get harder to move and "should help to keep the pressure off the drive.

If it is creeping from the valve unit there is not much you can do about that. Normally if you have a low houred machine the levers are the problem, higher houred machines tend to have more valve problems.

As they get older and more hours there is just no real good way to stop it from creeping.

Good luck

Shep Va is right I just had the Bobcat man out out my house He adjusted the springs which the lever works on it took care of the problem. If at full forward postion it tracks to one side or the other then your springs are not adjusted even.
