I was wondering since this information is hard to find how much can you lift with your 3-Point? I found one site that said a Kabota could lift 1,280 lbs at the ends of the 3-Point and around 580 lbs 24 inches out from the tip. My Massey 135 will lift up to 2,000 lbs on a set of Forks out the rear 4 ft then the front end gets light and harder to steer. Thanks, Mark H.

Willy: 3 point hitches are rated by catergory. I used to have the exact figures, so these are only aprox; Cat I 2,500 lbs at end of links. Cat II 5,000 lbs and CatIII 7,500 lbs. This will give some idea of spread. Whether some of these old tractors will achive this by now is another matter. Those little garden tractors like Kubota and Deere will be Cat 0, as Ford and Fergie used Cat I years ago.

Most Operator's Manuals & tractor sales literature tell you what the 3 -pt will lift at yeh many inches behind lift point. For mid size tractors, it's like 3000 lbs or more.

My TO-30 and 8N I had would top out at 1,200 lbs or so on a set of forks and a 9N I had would at least lift around 1,000 lbs. All would lift the wheels off the ground at that point with no counter weights. Mark H.

Ford 4500 lifted the front end of my 1976 GMC K25 chained to the back of my 8 ft box scrapper. The box scrapper weighs about 600 lbs so it was at least a ton or more. Truck wieghs 2 1/2 tons.

Most 3ph,s would lift more then the front end could hold down.
