I recently got back from a hunting trip and one of my hunting buddies had taken up an old plow disc and modified it (welding a plug in the center hole)and used it for cooking. I thougt it was great and I"ve been searching for one ever since however can not find one. Someone must know where I could find an old plow disc for sale??

Sounds like a job for a beaten out "Wok" from a Chinese food store. The old originals were made from about the same material of discs, hot rolled steel, and were beaten into a indented disc with hammers over a form. I got one years ago and it had to be "seasoned", heated up and have peanut oil brushed into the steel to make a sustainable cooking surface. If you really wanted a disc, one should be available at an old farm equipment wrecking yard. I have an old disc that shed a disc and has the hole in the middle as you note. Easier to just get the Chinese one with a wooden handle and a couple of tools, wisk of straws, ladle, etc. They used to advertise them on TV and were only $15 to $20.

Remember an in article in a magazine (probably Farm Show) 8-10 yrs ago about a cooker/skillet/griddle made from a disk from an old disk plow..... interesting; I'll see if I can find it. Disk plows in my part of the world are/were few and far between.

Any scrap yard in a farming area should have a stack of them. Last big one that I bought to cover a drain field clean out, cost three dollars.
