The little Gobblens.
5 1/2 large bags of candy was all it took to get rid of them.

No spooks at my place this year. Can't understand it. Last year I handed out cans of beer and packs of smokes. Guess the parents blacklisted my place ;)

Just kiddin'

While my kids are past the age group we still turn off the lights and go up to the local church. Only one or two kids dare come this far off the road anyway.

The church has a thing where you bring a few bags of candy or what ever. All the little kids and some not so little (teens) show up and play games and they pass out the candy.

Really works out nice. The kids get out and you do not have to worry about them walking up and down the streets at night. You can also trust that they will not have any nasty surprises in the candy bag when they get home.

Not one single one here. Only two kids that might still be young enough (like 2nd and 3rd grades?) live about a mile down the road.

When I was a kid growin up, used to go to my buddies subdivision, and there was the super rich family that always gave out full-sized candy bars. When I moved to Illinois, I figured was making good money, was only once a year, so would go to Sams and get 4 boxes of the real candy bars. Kids loved me, parents hated me, and dentists blamed me but took those parents money for repair jobs.

Now back in rural Indiana, glad I didn't go out and buy 4 boxes of the good stuff - I'd get stuck eatin it, and sure don't need it. Not one trickster out. Must go into the city, or some subdivision somewhere.???

It got tired of having to eat all the left-over candy, as I do not need to get any bigger. A few years ago, I started buying things like Hot Wheels cars, crayons, colored pencils, at Wal-Mart instead of candy. Kids like them, parents don't have to worry about them, & the leftover ones will keep til next year. It really costs no more than candy, & keeps me from getting bigger... :^)

Went to my mothers house to hand out candy!
No kid's trick or treat in our area, to far off road!
So off to town we went! Both my wife and I enjoy the kid's all dressed up and having fun!
I'll bet we had 150 kid's in frist 1/2 hour alone, maybe 300 plus total! More than we seen in years! Had a blast! Grand kids came over it was fun.

We had 6 hob-goblins here! We used to get 15 or 20, but since they opened up Yuppie-ville, the gobbling goblins go there for the better treats! Anyway, i'll have lots of goodies for meself! RJ
