Had a 49 JD B that was stuck till today . For about the last month I have gone through the ritual of spraying a variety of penetrating oils in the cylinders and tapping and jerking. I took the head off a few weeks ago and today I just happened to see a piece of old Locust post that fit perfect in the cylinder. I put it in and put a barn jack horizontally against it. Then I started to slowly tighten it up and low and behold it started to move. Now here is where it gets personal. Looking at that piece of Locust I realized that it was one that my grandpa had been splitting on the day that he died 22 years ago. I'm sure that my grandpa was saying under his breath while he was looking down "bailed you out again boy". There's no doubt about it GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME! I miss you gramp's.

If you ask my family, my friends, and myself, the answer is yes, absolutely. If you watch the news, you'd think that God is an illegal product or substance. Aint that somethin.

Good to hear of some happy ending story that has an acknowledgement of the Great and Good God who is in charge of all that we do, see, or own on his earth.

Up here in the great white north, the term "Locust" is a grasshopper or something like that. From your post it must be some sort of wood. Maybe you could fill me in on what it is exactly and what it's used for.

Under ground, Locus just won't rot - some kind of oil in it. And yes, when cutting with chainsaw sparks do fly. Thought everyone knew of locus posts. Grandpa planted a fencerow 86 years ago & a few posts remain.

Makes you wonder, doesn"t it? Was it God"s way of reminding you of your Grandfather, or was it your Grandfather"s way of reminding you of God? Either way is good.

Young Man,

I'm 60 years old and you just brought tears to my eyes; let the wife read your post and it happened to her too.

Thanks for that nice warmhearted story!

Allan

It's a shame God doesn't get more credit than we give Him . Satan has gotten all society blinded by self gratification . Yes it's good that memories of your Grampa came to mind . May the Lord be lifted up in all our activities .

Amen to all above. He keeps us and our loved ones in harms way safe and answers us anytime we talk to him. The trouble is all of us get so busy we don't always feel we have the time to talk, Later, Harley

Hard to believe that some people can't see that God walks beside us every day. Some believers don't understand that many times their prayers are answered with blessings that are better that their prayer request. God is good::::
