Mr. Nathan Lofland has sent me a tracking number that according to him contains the ballance due of my order. At this point I wish to believe what he says is true. Thank you Nathan. He also believes I have soiled his name on YT. I submit this as proof that the transaction between myself and Mr. Lofland is most probably complete. If anyone has questions about our transaction and the way I have been treated by Mr. Lofland I will gladly answer all questions truthfuly. If what I recieve is other than ballance due I will revisit same issue and update all concerned accordingly. Thank you. Bill Owen

I like what SLOROLL, HARLEY, and JI.UT have to say. I have had over 500 buys on ebay and YT. Out of these I would say I have had only three or four at the most short or not deliver. I still have faith in mankind after 70+ years. I still would like to think that a persons word is his bond as much as a handshake was when I was young. And 99.9 times out of a 100 it is.

Nathan Lofland is a lire and a cheat ( bring it on Nathan I'll gladly see you in court!!)I bought a block , rods & pistons for a JD A from him He said from a good running tractor. Took several months. His name was in every discussion form with people he'd ripped off. Well he sent me the rods & pistons they were ROUGH . I didn't get the block. A couple months after I did everything I could he gave me a tracking no. I got a block for a JD A It looked like he dug it out of a swamp! It was rusted so bad my machine shop wouldn't even look at it till I sandblasted INSIDE the bores. The rust went clear through to the water jacket. The block wasn't even sleeveable. I still have the block & all commutations between him & I Even a copy of the money order

He has given me a tracking number and the weight seemed to be about right when I tracked the package. Other times that he had said it was "on the way" proved to be inacurate or it wouldn't have come to this. I'll give the man the benifit of the doubt right now and for this "last" time. It takes to much energy to hold a grudge when a wrong has been made right. I do appreciate the support guys. Bill

Hey Bill, I feel for you. Much like Harley, I agree that for the most part people are honest and kind. But, there are those preditors that take advantage and exploit honest kind people, and then get lawyers to say how it's the world's fault, it's everyone and everything's fault but the poor, misguided, abused or overlooked as a child, preditor, and then turn the tables so that the victom is viewed as the bad guy, and the bad guy is viewed as the victom. Just be careful.

If was up to me, the preditors and the lawyers that represent them would share a cell as a husband and wife couple, right after a good old fashion horse whippin, or five. But it aint up to me.

Just be careful.

If Mr. Lofland was concerned about his name being soiled on YT, he is the only one to prevent that happenign by being honest and straightforward. Hope all ends well for you, Bill.
Jim

I don't have a dog in this fight, so MAYBE it would be best for me to reserve comment on this particular incident.

What I will do however, is to comment on internet buying/selling in general.

I frequently buy and sell on Yesterdays Tractor classifieds and photo adds. I'm a frequent e-Bay-er also. In the case of e-Bay, they recommend contacting your buyer/seller with-in 3 days, and attemt to complete the transaction with-in 10 days. (as far as making payment-sometimes it is neccesary to wait longer to ship, for checks to clear, ect)

It is totally unreasonable to expect payment A.S.A.P., then NOT to ship at least as soon as the payment has cleared.

That being said, 2 months is WAY over the acceptable limit. If there is some sort of complication that prevents shipping, a phone call or e-mail should be made immediately, to explain the situation, and offer a full refund if the buyer isn't content to wait.

There is such a thing as ethics, even in todays world. Both buyers AND sellers are bound by those "COMMON SENSE" ethics.

If I tried to scam, swindle, or cajole anyone, I'd almost expectthem to have something (bad) to say about it. I wouldn't be at all shocked or suprised when they told all their friends.

When you go messing with peoples money, you'd better be ready to do what's right....JMHO. John

I have played with old iron since I was eight or so... almost 40 years now and have so enjoyed almost everyone I have met in this hobby. Ebay has treated me well and so has YT. I generally like people to get more from me than They ask for, and have almost always been treated in kind. I find it refreshing (usually) that internet business requires a certain amount of trust. I like that taking that leap of faith. Most generaly it restores a lot of my faith in people. I continue to trust people and enjoy the internet as a relatively safe place to trade. Places like this forum promotes comradery (even in election years) and a place to hold each other accountable too. Good luck and happy dealings to all. I wish I could have written what John just did. Dog or no dog.

Indy and Sloroll, my wife and I have commented on this very thing ever since we started dealing online on both EBAY and YT, We have met some of the very nicest people from having financial dealings with them, and it renews your faith in mankind, and there is little enough of that out there today. Ran into a couple of d1ckheads, but by and large out of hundreds of people all over the U.S. that we have dealt with, that's pretty good odds. Let's all keep up the good work and be good to each other. Remember, we're all in this together, so keep yer stick on the ice, Harley

Well said. The Golden Rule, if followed by all, would go a long way toward eliminating the need for lots of other legislation and litigation.
