I have a question about an old 53 jubalee, my brother-in-law has this tracotor, for about ten
years now .he has been doing some repairs on it
and needed to know the serial number for it ,so he looked and looked all he can come up with is the
number 1 on the right side of block . my question, could this be the first one and if so
would this make it more valuable?

I read about someone else claiming to have s/n 1. After researching some more he found the real serial number. I guess that 1 is a casting code of some kind.

Serial numbers on Ford tractors of the 50's were stamped, not cast. Jubilee serial numbers all start with "NAA" followed by the number. Here's a link that will show you the correct location of the serial number. Warning: since these numbers were hand stamped, some of them are very nearly illegible. I guess toward the end of the shift, the guy hammering the numbers got a little tired because some serial numbers are very weakly struck.

There certainly must have been a first Jubilee and it should have serial number "NAA1", but I'm not ready to believe your b-i-l owns it until I see a photo of the s/n in the correct location.

More valuable? Maybe, from a curiosity standpoint. Might make it more desireable to a Ford museum. I kind of suspect s/n 1 got used around the Ford factory as a test mule and never got shipped to a dealer, but I have no evidence of that.
