Snow is coming soon!

I'm getting tired of trying to push and pile snow with the loader. It takes too much time. I have given some thought about getting a 3 point hitch mounted snow blower for the tractor and was looking at the Normand brand of blowers. They seem to be well built. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with one or with 3 point hitch mounted blowers in general.

DSM, what in particular did you like about the Normand over the Meteor? I have a dealer by me who has Meteors in stock and thinks very highly of them. A Meteor would probably be fine for my use but I have a dirt drive and thought that the Normand would hold up better. Also the Normand has a bolt on cutting edge which is a lot easier to replace then the Meteor's welded on one.

the meteor is light duty compared to the normand I have, although normand sells an econor blower that is somewhat lighter.I found that you were pushing snow as well as blowing it,and it always left a pile of snow when you stoped. The normand literaly eats it and leaves nothing. However,it never gave much trouble, replaced the chain and one bearing in 14 no it was 17 years and I moved alot of snow not just my own.good luck shopping

I know of allot of people who bought a snow blower thinking they would like it better then a blade or loader, but after they tried it they didnt like it. (1) they didnt like having to drive backwards. (2) They were not happy when the put a stone through a window.

I have a small horse farm and my tractor is a very important tool for me,but the tractor and the horses are not my lively hood, that said,,if I didnt have my pickup with the plow on it to push the snow in my 600ft driveway here in upstate New York and could'nt replace it or repair it if needed, then I guess I'll just have to throw my hand in and move back to crack alley in the city pointing my scoped 44Mag out the window at the lowlifes.Of course this statement is in jest, just trying to emphasise how important my pick up is to me compared to pushing snow around with a tractor regardless of what type of implements I have.

Good Luck With Your Snow Ventures

I had a 6 foot meteor blower for 14 years,thought it was great.Then I bought a normand N86 260 I realized, I never really had a snow blower before!!
