I just wanted to get back to you on the slow race that I had asked about for rules a few weeks ago. We had the slow race here this weekend. We used two 100 foot lanes, got an official judge who conducts the tractor pulls at the county fair and we had 16 participants. A great time was had by all! There were 9 Internationals (3 M's, 2 cubs, a 400, 856, 1206 and a 966). We had a rule that the tractor had to be a minimum of 30 years old. There were also 4 JD's, one old D on rubber, one B, one 3010 gas and one 4010 diesel. Also we had 2 Fords, a 3000 and a 700 along with one Oliver 770.
We conducted the race like a wrestling match, 2 tractors at a time with the winners advancing to the next tier of rounds. The final round for the championship was between a 1971 IH 966 with 38" rubber and a 1961 JD 3010 gas on 15.5x38's. The Deere won by no more than 3 inches, it was very exciting! Both drivers are looking forward to a rematch next year!

THATS great!

we here in Indiana have ran those for over 10yrs now; and run 5 or more tractors at one time makes elimination faster. It got so competative around here that one guy fixed up a Ford with a sherman transmition and when that didnt beat our 430 JDs (yes 2) he had a special gear put in. then he got Cocky with it and started putting it in 3rd gear; but he got beat by another non fixed up Ford and so he up and quit.....

dont people KNOW it was just for FUN????

Those are fun.

Have a couple of guys SE of me that run 830 Cases with Case-O-Matic's. They are unbeatable.

Couple of other fun games are the Chain in a box, and barrel races.

Chain in a Box is where you paint a square on the ground, hook a chain to the drawbar that is acout 4 times longer than the box. Chain is stretched out and the driver has to put all the chain in the box. Shortest time wins.

Barrel race is pushing a barrel down a course with the front wheels.

Have fun

JT

We didn't have any Case-o-matics come to the race, but we had put in the sheet of rules that IH hydro tractors were not allowed and if a Case had Case-o-matic, they had to drive it in direct drive.

Aint it sad you have to have a sheet of rules.. but were human so we have to.

we crack eggs with the drawbar--- (hand clutch JD"s) and we BLIND FOLD drivers and have someone (spouse - or good friend) tell them how to go threw the obstecle course with out nocking over cones. I saw a really good game in Southwestern IN one time-- it had everything .. carrying water, backing, balancing and time.. it was fun to watch.
