Ford 770 loader is making a squealing noise

I have an '81 Ford 1700 4wd with a 770 loader that's making an awful squealing noise when the loader is lifting or the bucket is being rolled back. The noise is coming from the control sticks (there are two), as well as from the motor area. Would this noise have anything to do with the fact that the control stick that controls the bucket dumping and rolling back is plumbed backwards? If so, is it a pretty simple fix for me to perform myself, having very little experience with working on hydraulics under my belt?

Thanks in adv.

Tim

Could be wrong abot your dcv, but, hooked up backwards I think you"re working against loadchecks (have to be unseated via pilot press to exhaust oil) and causing all exhausted oil on up and curl through relief valve. That"s probably the sqealing you hear, that or system pleading to be plumbed properly. Better to learn the right way even if it doesn"t make sense to you because every system should be plumbed same. Horiz mounted handles will be handle down= work up and vertical mount will be handle pull= work up. If you get on someone elses equip, you could be embarassed or hurt someone.
