There's an old saying I like.... Never argue with a fool. Someone just passing by won't be able to tell you two apart. Politics will never change, and argueing over it will never change anyones opinion. November 2nd, we'll vote on who gets the Oval Office for the NEXT 4 years. Then we get to do this crap all over again..... Untill then, I've had about all I can stand..... .....John

I think it is all good. Ignore what you want, read what you want, and comment if you want but let us not attempt to censor.

The thing that bothers me is that while a good chunk of us have sat down and figured out what we believe in, and thus which side we will support----the fate of this country and thus the world----is dependent on the 'undecided' who have had months to do the same thing and still do not know what they stand for! They are the ones who have never taken their freedom seriously enough to pay attention in school, understand our governmental system, think of what they believe in, examine the issues, may or may not vote, etc. And THEY decide OUR fate.

I was trying to stay out of the whole political thing. I will say this much, I certainly do agree with you 100%. I don't like it one bit, but I do agree with you.

Have you noticed the efforts to register potential "undecided" voters making the news? With the election so near, why bother? If have no clue by now, I don't expect a serious clue in a couple of weeks based upon "lip service" from either side.

I expect the pile to fall left or right based upon someone(s) jumping on without having a clue as to why, except that there was a pile to jump onto.

Allan's right, pride seems to be lacking these days. But, can't and shouldn't legislate pride.

Mark - IN.

I beg your pardon sir.Iknow exactly what i stand for. And i am also a registerd voter who has his mind made up about which way i am going to vote in this election. That being said i have chosen not to engage in political discussions on this or any other website.I just do not want to see this on a site that i believe was intended for another purpose. It seems to me that lately a lot of people want to get on here and find something to fight about. We should all be able to express our opinions in a nice way.I get on here because i enjoy it and like to see everyone participate. We all need to treat each other with respect.I don't really enjoy the politic's being discussed here but that does't that i am not an informed American. Now then with that being said if i don't like the discussion i don't have to read the thread. But just because myself and others here don't like what's happening to the board it does not mean that we don't know or care about what's going on in our country.Fellows we have a good thing here lets don't ruin it!

No need to beg my pardon- I respect you for having taken the time, made the effort, to decide which way you will vote- no matter which way it is. Can't have a horse race if only one shows up! As long as the majority of posts on any given forum are for what the forum is for, and the OT's are listed as such, I don't foresee a problem. My concern is with voters that go for glib personalities, good looks, pie in the sky promises with no substance or real plans for our future. I've seen too much of that for over forty years, yet the gullible buy that BS.

JMS,

Wow! You really have a way of yankin' back on that bit, don't ya there Bud?

Trouble is, you are 100% correct in what you say. Damned shame too. I miss the 40s & 50s when people had pride in themselves. :>(

Heck Allen, I miss the 60's when we all painted flowers on our faces, and nameless free-loving women and stuff, and I was born in 1960, and know almost nothin' about what I just said, but am sure I miss it. LOL.

I was 9 years old when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, watched it on a black and white TV circled around with my buddies. Know what we did afterwards? We went out into the woods and took turns climbin' to the top of good sized saplings while the others chopped them down. Maybe 30' or so. We had this theory that if we jumped out of the trees just before trees hit the ground, we wouldn't get hurt. That kind've stuff always worked for the Roadrunner, didn't work for us though. OUUUUCH, but sure was fun!!! Ahh, the simpler life.

I left the coffee shop this morning because of it.I turned off the TV in the shop about an hour ago because of it.Now i get on this board and here is is again.I've heard so much about what he did'nt do right or i'm gonna do or this service record or that service record that i'm about ready to throw up.Indy i'm with you ,lets talk about something to do with the real purpose of this forum.Something we know a little bit about. You can argue until the end of time and it still won't change a thing when it comes to politic's.Now that i feel better i'm stepping back out to the shop and turn a few wrenches.

Got to agree with you John.

A good argument/discussion is good if you can learn/teach something.

Only problem is when it comes to politics and religion you are wasting your breath no matter what side of the fence you are on.

You and my wife would surely hit it off BIG! She'll argue a point untill her "opposition" pass's out from exhaustion. I've learned a few things in my 27 years with her. One is to smile and say "Yes dear" a lot, and the other is to NEVER agree to get a hearing aid (I so desperately NEED) It's a darn shame theREALron isn't here for todays FUN! (Oh, and by the way, I AGREE whole-heartedly with just about everything you had to say...) John
