On this site, these are the choices that they
show. Which of them is correct? Anyone have
any experience with the 'Aftermarket' Manuals?

I'm in Washington State. Very near the Canadian Border. Where are you?
Thanks for all replies..... ..... ..

Hi Ed,

I'm in Nova Scotia. Long way east from where you are. Actually, I have never priced or used the manuals from this site, just knew from previous posts that they were available. The I&T manual is good if you only need basic specs and have a general good understanding of what you are doing. The Ford manuals give a very in-depth systems and operation section for all components. They cover the whole series of 3 and 4 cylinder tractors, with (I believe) 9 volumes. The dealer parts books were the same layout. Personally, I don't usually bother with parts books, because I have pretty good parts support from my dealer, and if I'm stuck he prints the section out from PAL and faxes it to me. I have the original Ford Service manuals which cost me about 100 Cad. That was 10 years ago, so they are probably double that now. HTH.

Ed,

Where'd you get your tractor? Picked mine up in Newton, TX.

Hi Ed,
According to the unit # you posted, your tractor is a 1981 model 1 (1981) G (July) 17 (17th) B (day shift). I believe the manuals are available on this site, but I prefer the factory manuals. The factory manuals are generally more in-depth, and give some very good trouble shooting sections and circuit diagrams if you don't already understand the various systems. You can get the original manuals from NewHolland, but they are a bit dear. HTH.

Well, for that particular tractor they are mighty dear on this site. I'm holding off right now trying to psyche myself up to cough up the roughly $250 for the 3.
