hello to all,

does anybody make an anti-freeze for ford 7.3 psd's that is up to the factory specs?
we are due for a change out but sure would like to buy it local and not from our wealthy ford dealer.

thanks for any input on this.

Its all here! I paln on going gold before it gets too awful cold out,but any good low silicate will do,just have to add SCA to it.With the gold you dont.

Hi Mud,

Below is a link to Valvoline Zerex G-05 or the gold coolant Ford is using in there 2002 and newer diesels.

The only talk I here is the 99 or older models have a problem with the newer coolant but I haven't read one post that someone tried it and it actually failed (caused the seals to leak).

You might want to post under the "tool forum" as the tractor forum moves threads so fast for follow up comments without digging thru the back pages.

In my service company trucks, 3 F-350's, I used a good quality coolant ( Ford does not make their own ) cut to 50 % but make sure it is low silicate antifreeze. It would be a good idea to add an appropriate measure of coolant additive to prevent cavatation in the liners. Also if the hoses are getting a little stiff, now would be a good time to replace them!
